Secondary Stage ( 9 , 10 , 11 and 12 )

The High School Curriculum is based on team work where the teachers are the facilitators for group discussions and projects as well as hands-on activities and experimentation. The Science and Mathematics labs cater to the development of a scientific temper. Emphasis is laid on research and discovery. Project based learning, excursions, and expert talks by professionals aid better understanding of the subjects. The recommendations of the NEP are followed while transacting the curriculum so as to ensure that each student learns effectively. At this stage students begin to assert themselves and at RIS we channelize this need for independence to help the students build their self confidence and hone their talents. The Student Council gives them a platform to generate ideas for the student body and implement them.

Maintaining discipline, motivating those who belong to their houses, planning for school events, organizing committees to ensure various tasks are followed are all done by the students themselves at this level. School spirit is at an all time high at this stage in life and students participate in various inter school competitions with determination, enthusiasm and the will to win. All this helps to mould them into becoming successful adults. We have various clubs for students to discover and hone their talent. Students have the privilege of choosing the school club they want to belong to and take pride in participating in the activities of that club.

Career guidance is provided at this stage to students to help them understand their own aptitude and explore fields which they will enjoy and shine in. Students are provided exposure to panel discussions and expert talks so they can understand what different fields of study entail and what job opportunities they offer. This helps them make the right choices about which stream of subjects to pursue for their higher education. Evaluation & Assessment Promotion to the next grade is granted on the basis of the entire year’s performance of the student based on the system set up by the CBSE Board. The performance of the student is judged in the C.C.E (Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation) pattern which is a system of evaluation of students that takes a holistic approach to a student’s development.
